John & Max Mills Photography is a fusion of two tremendous talents.

John is a second-generation photographer. He acquired his technical expertise at the side of his father, a renowned "glamour" photographer in Hollywood's heyday.

John refined his technique and expanded his creativity studying music, art and film while attending the University of Southern California. He deservedly earned a reputation as a superb commercial photographer, displaying a unique technical mastery of his medium. In spite of critical acclaim and commercial success, John's first love remained the portrayal of people and the human experience. He sought a style that would flatter his subjects, yet capture their essence, their "innocence", and their individuality. He learned to help his subjects relax, assume graceful, yet natural bodylines, and be themselves. John believes that all of his subjects are intrinsically attractive individuals. His goal is to make sure that all of his photographs reflect it.

Max holds a fine arts degree from the State University of New York at Binghamton, where she studied dance, music, art and theater. Max brings a synthesis of these art forms to her photography. She feels that a wedding has much in common with ballet. Understanding the choreography puts one in the right place at the right time to capture the moments and emotions of the day.

Together, John & Max have created a unique style blending the best of the old world and the new; technical expertise and artistic flair; color and black and white; classic wedding portraiture and documentary style photojournalism.

When John and Max cover your event, the highest standards of photographic excellence are combined with a vibrant celebration of the human spirit. "When we cover a wedding, we realize that we are sharing one of the happiest days in a couple's life. The excitement of this day coupled with the creative challenges it presents, sustains us as artists and as human beings."

Whatever your expectations, John and Max will make them a reality...
